Joy M. ‘Marty’ Roberts

Ms. Joy M. “Marty” Roberts, 67, of North Main Street, Mocksville, died on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at Wake Forest Baptist Health in Winston-Salem.
She was born Feb. 16, 1950, in Forsyth County to William Oliver Roberts and the late Erlene Wilson Roberts. She retired after 30 years with Gary Prillaman, DDS. She was involved in the community having served in Honduras missions, A Storehouse for Jesus and community outreaches .
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Gay Roberts.
Survivors: her father of Mocksville; 2 sons, Brian Whitley (Cora) of Mocksville and Josh Whitley (Tammy) of Winston-Salem; 2 sisters, Lisa Dixon and Kathy Whittaker, both of Mocksville; 5 grandchildren, Hannah, Carley, Isaiah, Jared and Nathan Whitley; 3 stepgrandchildren, Khristopher Higgins, Kaje Sizemore, Victoryia Sizemore; 5 great-grandsons; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
A funeral service was conducted at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 8 at Eaton Funeral Chapel, Mocksville with Dr. Glenn L Myers Jr. officiating. Burial followed in Turrentine Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
