Thomas Neely, 79, died at Davie Place Sunday, Nov. 20, 2016, following a lengthy battle with prostate cancer.

He was born Oct. 12, 1937, the son of the late Carzell Neely and Betty Belle White Neely. He never married. He worked as a saw mill operator for much of his life and was of the Baptist faith.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, William Paul Neely, and 4 sisters, Janie Belle Fortune, Addie Mae Neely, Mary Alice Wilson and Eleanor Faulkner.

Survivors: a brother, Carlee Neely of Mocksville; 6 nieces, Alberta Arnold, Bertha Mayfield, Shelby Neely, Debbie Jackson, Linda Hogan and Amber Neely; and 3 nephews, Kenneth Neely, Ricky Neely and Aaron Neely.

A celebration of life memorial service was held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Shiloh Baptist Church, Mocksville.
