Terry Flint Smoot

Terry Flint Smoot, 57, died on Oct. 26, 2016 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.

He was born on Nov. 11, 1959, son of Conard Smoot and the late Willie Mae Flint Smoot. He attended Davie County Public Schools and was a member of Mocksville Second Presbyterian Church.  He was a big hearted, friendly person, who would do anything he could to help someone.  He worked well with his hands, and was gifted to do just about anything.

He was preceded in death by relatives that included 3 aunts, Mildred Blackwelder, Zelda Naylor, and Clara Crawford; an uncle, Walter Smoot; 2 sets of grandparents, Lindsay and Zelma Flint, and Walter and Bertha Cain Smoot.

Survivors: his father, Conard Smoot; a brother, Lindsay Conard Smoot; 2 sisters, Linda Faye (Kenneth) Brown, and Rita Smoot; a niece, Lynisha Smoot; a nephew, Adonis Smoot; 3 aunts, Addie (Elvie) Bell, Lula Foote, and Betty Frost; a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral service was held on Sunday, Oct. 30 at 2 p.m. at Graham Funeral Home in Mocksville. Pastor Fred Terry officiated and Pastor Rodney Barker provided the eulogy.  Burial followed in Mocksville Second Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home 30 minutes before the service.
