The Davie County Future Farmers of America (FFA) received first place for its booth at the Dixie Classic Fair.

The booth was judged on creativity, captivity, educational elements, design and student involvement. The theme was “A Home Grown Ticket to Agriculture Fun.”   

FFA members encouraged the community to enjoy agriculture by growing their own garden, raising animals, and visiting their local farmers market.

FFA members also participated in the junior ewe and junior market lamb show. Before the show students taught their lamb to lead and brace.  In preparation for the fair students sheared and washed their lambs.

All students walked away with ribbons and prizes.

The highlight was a first place ewe lamb. Lazy 5 Ranch allowed students to use lambs to show.
