Mrs. Linda Ellen Gibbs Hemphill, 72, of Mocksville died Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem.

She was born Feb. 24, 1944 in Durham County to Leonard and Mabel Joyner Gibbs. Her parents preceded her in death.

Surviving: her husband, Wayne M. Hemphill; a son, Wayne M. Hemphill Jr. and wife Carol and his daughter, Jessica Ponce and husband Ramiro, all of Winston-Salem; a daughter, Tina Marie LaChance and husband Paul and their daughter, Tabitha Shaw and husband Chris, all of Kernersville; 6 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Charles Gibbs.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22 at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel with Bishop Oscar Joseph, OCCO and the Rev. Randall Keeney officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
