Peggy Ann Cowden

Peggy Ann Cowden, 63, of Cooleemee, died with family and friends by her side on Sept. 30, 2016 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House in Winston-Salem after a short and strong fought battle with cancer.

She was born on Aug. 27, 1953 to the late Grover Cleveland Brown and Margaret Lucille Brown. She resided in Davie County almost all of her life. She was a hard worker and tried to help others. She enjoyed time with family, watching the History Channel, and late night talks with her best friend Linda. She also worked at National General Insurance for more than 22 years.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Sue Brown, and other family members and friends, including a former coworker, Missy.

Survivors: a son, Eric Wayne Head and wife Amanda; a daughter, Amanda Lynn Bouldin and husband Chris; 2 granddaughters, Kalista Head and Alexis Bouldin; a sister, Jane Daywalt; a brother, Steven Green; her best friend of more than 50 years, Linda McDaniel and husband John; along with numerous coworkers at NGIC.

In lieu of a funeral, she requested a potluck celebration of life to be Oct. 29 from noon-4 p.m. at the Jericho Ruritan Building, 771 Greenhill Road, Mocksville. Bring a dish, dessert, etc. and a fond memory.
