James Devitt Montgomery Sr.

Mr. James Devitt Montgomery Sr., 68, of Rocky Dale Lane, Mocksville, died Saturday, Oct. 8, 2016, at his home.
He was born May 21, 1948, in Pennsylvania to the late Frederick A. and Eileen Asbeck Montgomery. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Vietnam War. Mr. Montgomery had been a truck driver and owned his own business at one time.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Timothy A. Montgomery.
Survivors: his wife, Kim Montgomery of the home; 5 children, James D. Montgomery Jr. of Mocksville, David Karl Montgomery (Kelly) of Sanford, James Lee Montgomery of Lewisville, Ryan Allen Montgomery and Briana Montgomery Keller (Josh), all of Mocksville; 10 grandchildren; 5 siblings, Ed Montgomery (Marcy) of Nevada, Pat Montgomery (Sue) of Alabama, Bruce Montgomery (Amy) of Cary, Mollie Montgomery-Pregibon of Florida and David Asbeck Montgomery of Costa Rica; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial graveside service will be conducted at 9 a.m., Friday, Oct. 14 at Salisbury National Cemetery with military honors conducted by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard. The family was to receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, at Eaton Funeral Home.
