Michael Bruce VanNostran, 64, of Mocksville, died on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2016 at his residence surrounded by family.

He was born on March 28, 1952 in Los Angeles, Calif. to the late Bruce VanNostran and Cora Maupin VanNostran. He was a member of Redland Pentecostal Church in Advance, and worked as a assembler in the shelter workshop. He loved all kinds of cars, especially muscle cars and watching any type of car races. He also won several medals in the Special Olympics in the early 1990s. He also loved to spend time with friends and family and he always complimented people on their cute noses.

Survivors: a sister, Jacqueline Smith and husband Don of Mocksville; a nephew, Chris Denny of Mocksville; a niece, Lori Lewis of Mocksville; and 6 great nephews and nieces.
