As the United Way of Davie County prepares for another Annual Campaign, the organization announces the 2016-17 Annual Campaign Cabinet.

“Coming off the heels of last year’s campaign, we are excited about what is to come this year. We believe the cabinet we have put together will be instrumental in leading a successful campaign that will allow us to serve even more in Davie County,” said Melinda Beauchamp, chief executive officer.

A major goal of this year’s campaign is two-fold: to educate companies in the community about employee giving campaigns and, increase the current number of employee giving campaigns overall.

“Employee campaigns are so much more than the United Way asking a company for a monetary gift – in fact, that belief is one reason we have struggled with getting in the door to new businesses,” said Campaign Chair Chuck Taylor of Sage Garden Care Center. “Employee giving campaigns provide employees with the opportunity to give on a level that is affordable to them through payroll deduction. Some of our most successful employee giving campaigns consist of employees who select to give what we call a “building block” gift which is $1 per week for 52 weeks. This cabinet is excited to expand those types of campaigns and we are excited about the difference we can make here at home.”

Members of the 2016-17 Campaign Cabinet include:

• Chair, Chuck Taylor, Sage Garden Care Center;

• Melinda Szeliga, Hillsdale Real Estate Group;

• Brandy Koontz-Stockert, Vogler Koontz-Stockert Law Firm;

• Jeff Wallace, Davie County Schools;

• Marcia Perrell, Bank of the Ozarks;

• Chad Brown, Davie Medical Center – Wake Forest Baptist Health;

• Kim McClure, Davie Family YMCA; and

• Tanya Hacker, Community Volunteer.

The mission of the Davie County United Way is to advance the common good of Davie County by uniting the resources of the community to identify and address the most pressing human needs.
