Janet Cook, 60, of Statesville, died on Aug. 12, 2016 in Salisbury.

Burial will take place at Iredell Memorial Gardens on Saturday, Aug. 20 at 10 a.m.

She was born at the Alexander Hospital to Leon and Jackie Mitchell on Sept. 17, 1955. She graduated from North Iredell High School. She attended beauty school in Statesville, and upon graduation, began working in a salon, quickly expanding her business. She married Jeff Cook on Nov. 29, 1980 in Statesville, where she had her two children, Dana and Cameron.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors: her son, Capt. Dana Cook (USMC) and wife Sarah; daughter Cameron Cook and fiancé Matthew; brother Eddie Mitchell and fiancé Sondra and children Josh, Cole and Brooks; and former spouse Jeff Cook.
