Seven-year-old Gracie Hauser decided to let local law enforcement officers know that she appreciates them.

She created a card for each law enforcement officer in Davie County.

Gracie used her computer to select a beach scene for the front of the card and she typed the words “THANK YOU” in capital letters. On the inside she handwrote a message that said “You have an important job. THANKS for all you do.”

More than 100 appreciation cards were decorated with stickers and delivered to the Mocksville Police Department, Cooleemee Police Department, and the Davie County Sheriff’s Office.

Her next project is sending birthday cards to military personnel through a program called #CardHugs.

Gracie will be a third grader at North Hills Christian School in Salisbury. She has had a busy summer implementing the school’s mission statement, which is to “equip hearts and minds of students to impact the world for Christ.”

When school starts on Aug. 15, Gracie will have several experiences to share with her classmates.
