Amos Calloway Brown Jr.

Amos Calloway Brown Jr., 68, of Granite Falls, formerly of Mocksville,  died on Aug. 8, 2016.

Born on March 27, 1948 in Belmont, he was the son of Anna Belle Brown and the late Amos C. Brown Sr. He was a member of Grace Chapel United Methodist Church. He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. His passions were golf, music, and fishing. He was known for his sense of humor and outgoing personality.

Survivors: his wife of 48 years, June Brown of the home; children, Alan Brown and wife Shana of Granite Falls, Debbie Wey and husband Chris of Tega Cay, S.C.; grandchildren, Evan Wey, Caroline Wey, Garrett Brown, Sydney Hurley; sister, Brenda Taylor and husband Michael of Mt. Holly;  brother, Lloyd Brown and wife Meritha of Cramerton; and numerous nephews and nieces.

A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, Aug. 14 at 1 p.m. at Catawba Funerals & Cremations with Carl Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
