- Big Bang Boom will perform at the Davie County Public Library's summer reading program on Monday evening.
Kick up your heels at the Davie County Public Library’s Summer Reading Program, “On Your Mark, Get Set, READ.”
Youth may sign-up for reading incentive programs until Aug. 8.
On Monday, July 18 at 6:30 p.m., The Big Bang Boom Band will have families dancing the night away.
On Tuesday, July 19 at 10:30 a.m., elementary kids will hear a story about jump ropes, Shady Grove’s jump-rope demonstrators and Ms. Agejew will lead kids in jump-rope activities. At 1:30 p.m. upper elementary and middle school youth can enjoy listening to a read-a-loud of “Mr. Lemoncello’s Library Olympics” by Chris Grabenstein. Legos & aames will be available from 2-3:30 p.m.
On Wednesday, July 20, families are invited to bring lunch or snacks at 11 a.m. for Munchin’ at the Movies showing “Inside Out,” PG, 102 minutes and at 1 p.m. for Snackin’ at the Cinema see “Jem and the Holograms” PG13, 118 minutes.
Thursday is for readers clubs. Ranger is available 11-noon for 15-minute appointments. The Young Adult Readers Club will meet at 2:15 with Mrs. Archer to briefly discuss “Me, Earl and the Dying Girl” followed by viewing the movie, PG, 104 minutes. Participants will pick-up Z for Zachariah for discussion on Aug. 4.
On Friday, Pre-school Story Time is at 11 a.m. Ranger will be available for 15-minute appointments on Saturday from 11-noon. DCPL programming is free and open to the public.
