Ebony Sharnelle Ijames

Ebony Sharnelle Ijames of High Point died at Wake Forest Medical Center in Winston-Salem following a car wreck.
She was born on Nov. 4, 1988, daughter of Angela Ijames and Richard Lewis Fortune Sr. She graduated from Southwest Guilford High School and Guilford Technical Community College. She took internet courses in building technology at South University. She was last employed with Essentra Filters as a machine operator.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by: a son, Robert Z. Woody; the father who raised her, Charles Yoes; a brother, Don El-amin; a sister, Wannetta Charlese; siblings, Richard Lewis Jr., Danielle Lashay and Morel Dontae; grandmother, Pastor Nettye I. Barber; godparents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Smith; nieces and nephews, Ayanah Renee, Angela Denise, Mya Unique, Antwan Seth, Josiah Lamar, Ka’den Charles, Terrionna McKenzie, Brendan Lamar, Jacqueline Elmina, Ny’jaeya Skyler, and Miracle Shanelle; a host of aunts and uncles, relatives and friends.
Her funeral service was held on Monday, May 9 at noon at New Jerusalem Apostolic Church in Mocksville. Apostle Derek D. Kelly officiated and Pastor Nettye I. Barber delivered the eulogy. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
