Mr. Walter Gordon Beaver, 90, of Salisbury, died Monday, March 21, 2016, at The Brian Center in Salisbury.

He was born May 6, 1925, in Rowan County to the late Paul Beaver and Stella Adams Beaver Campbell. He was a member of Mocksville First Presbyterian Church. He was retired from Food Lion.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lee Holliday Beaver.

Survivors: a daughter, Carolyn Sue Swicegood of Salisbury; 2 granddaughters, Stephanie Beck (Mark Strickland) and Cynthia Graham, all of Lexington; 5 great-grandchildren, Aaron, Dylan and Landon Beck, Corey Graham and Nakajah Vaughn; and 3 brothers, Don Beaver (Nancy) of Mocksville, Marshall Beaver (Betty) of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and Jimmy Campbell of Mocksville; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m., Monday, March 28 at Eaton Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Dana Fruits officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
