Cooleemee will be celebrating Easter with the annual Easter Egg Hunt on March 26 at the Zachary House on Church Street.

Refreshments, games, prizes, a photo booth, Easter parade cakewalk, egg hunt and of course, the Easter Bunny, are things you can look forward to.

Coaches Devore Holman, David Hunt and Ron Bivins brought a group of football players to help with the clean up day at RiverPark on Saturday. This happens every year.  The players devote four hours of their time to make a huge difference cleaning out brush, heavy logs and digging ditches.

Ron Bivins, a native of Cooleemee, first brought the players of Davie High to the park several years ago and it never fails, they always show up.

About 25 volunteers were treated to fresh hotdogs made by RiverPark board members.

The Bullhole would look a lot different today if Bivins had never thought of the great idea. Thank you coaches, players and other volunteers for taking the time to help preserve our natural resources which is a great asset to not only Cooleemee, but to the entire County of Davie and other surrounding areas.

A man drove from Winston-Salem to check out the park for the first time. His friend had visited there and told him about the park.  “He was right, it’s beautiful.”
