Davie County Republicans chose Donald Trump as their favorite presidential nominee – beating out Ted Cruz,  John Kasich and Marco Rubio here.

On the Democratic side, Hilary Clinton easily defeated Bernie Sanders in Davie County.

In local elections, Mocksville attorney Lori Hamilton was elected Superior Court judge for Davie and Davidson counties.

Since only Republicans were running for seats on the Davie County Board of Education and Davie County Board of Commissioners, those nominees will likely be elected in November: for the three county commission seats, Mark Jones, Terry Renegar and Richard Poindexter, with Charles O. Williams missing the cut; and four the four seats on the school board,  W.G. “Dub” Potts, Paul Drechsler, Wendy Horneand Terry Hales, with Richard Carter and Dwight Goodman missing the cut.
