Cornatzer students ‘dress’ history

Cornatzer fifth graders got themselves in a real time twist when they celebrated Decade Day.

In social studies classes, students have been learning about the history of the United States, and as a special project they chose a decade from the last 100 years in which they would have liked to lived. They had to write a report about their decade highlighting significant events that took place.

Finally came the fun part, dressing up in the style of their decade.

Students arrived at school sporting platform shoes, 1920s beads and feathers, tie-dye shirts, poodle skirts, military uniforms, afro hair styles, and cool shades.

Learning history can be fun when you dress the part.
