Mrs. Mildred Frye Spry, 86, of Deadmon Road, Mocksville, died Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016 at Autumn Care of Mocksville.

She was born Feb. 28, 1929 in Davie County to the late George Ira and Beatrice Jenkins Frye. Mrs. Spry was a member of Turrentine Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling, especially with her children.  Mrs. Spry enjoyed making porcelain dolls, cooking, sewing and playing with her grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Shelby Wensil; great-granddaughter, Michaela Draughn; 3 sisters, infant Frye, Ruby Fisher and Elizabeth Lefler.

Survivors: her husband of 70 years, Roy Vestal Spry Jr.; 4 daughters, Brenda Draughn (Ervin), Pat Cleary (Charlie), Sharon Bartlett (Edward) and Cindy Swisher (Dwayne); a son, Ricky Spry (Pam); son-in-law, Allen Wensil; 8 grandchildren, Chris Wensil (Christa), Michael Draughn (Teresa), Keri Brandon (Bryan), Becky Wiles (Dan), Zackary, Bronwyn, and Lindsey Bartlett and Brandi Swisher; 5 great-grandchildren, Shelby Wensil, Jesse Draughn, Peyton Correll, Drake Brandon and Graham Wiles; a sister, Evelyn Trexler; a brother, George Frye (Gwyn); and 3 stepgrandchildren, Becky Bartlett, Christine Dalton and Thomas Bartlett.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Friday, Feb. 5 at Turrentine Baptist Church with the the Revs. Fred Carlton and Joe Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4 at Eaton Funeral Home.
