Mrs. Ethel Virginia Thompson Murray, 91, of Courtney Road, died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016, at Autumn Care of Mocksville.

She was born Nov. 14, 1924, in Davidson County to the late John Henry and Blanche Snider Thompson. Mrs. Murray was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church.

She was also preceded in death by 4 brothers, Rob, Clark, Matthew and Sandy Thompson.

Survivors: her husband of 67 years, Clyde Franklin Murray of the home; a son, Darrell Murray (Patricia) of Huntersville; 2 grandchildren, Tricia Moncrief (Rich) and Todd Murray (Megan); a great-granddaughter, Hannah Scott; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was conducted at 1:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 29 at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Arnold Gosnell officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.  The family received friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
