John Eugene Young, 68, of Junction Road, Mocksville, died Monday, Jan. 11, 2016 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

Born May 28, 1947, in Buncombe County, he was the son of the late Dorothy Carter and the husband of Vickie Wright Young who he married Nov. 21, 1991. Mr. Young was retired from Kosa Industries.

In addition to his wife of 24 years, he is survived by: 2 step-sons, Ricky Rhodes of Mocksville and Eric Rhodes (Jamie) of Lexington; a step-daughter, Jennifer Higgins of Winston-Salem; a brother, David Young of Wilmington; 2 sisters, Kimberly Chandler of Albemarle, and Barbara Young of Florida; 5 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by a son, 2 daughters and a brother.
