Mrs. Cathy Boyd Cook, 63, of Advance died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2016 at Bermuda Commons Nursing and Rehab.

She was born Oct. 5, 1952 in Forsyth County to Joseph Lee and Edith Lewis Boyd.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Brent Cook.

Surviving: a sister, Sharon Moser and husband Carl of Advance; a nephew, Jon Moser of Charlotte; her cat, Puddin; an aunt, Juanita Carter of Winston-Salem; and an uncle, Tom Boyd and wife Ellie of Greenville.

A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 14 at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel with Pastor Rebecca Allis and Dr. Chuck Baker officiating. Burial followed in the Union Tabernacle Church Cemetery. The family received friends on Wednesday at the funeral home.
