Mrs. Janet Delores Carter Ratledge, 75, of Mocksville, died Friday, Jan. 8, 2016 at Regency Care of Clemmons.

Mrs. Ratledge was born Aug. 22, 1940 in Surry County to Dewitt and Ida Mae Bowers Carter. She was a member of Courtney Baptist Church. Mrs. Ratledge enjoyed gardening, music and cooking.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Dixon.

Survivors: her husband of 46 years, Kerman Ray Ratledge; 2 sons, Mike (Joanie) Wood and Bobby (Lisa) Wood; 6 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was conducted Monday, Jan. 11 at 1 p.m. at Courtney Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Capps officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. The family received friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
