Mrs. Emily Suttenfield Rogers, 87, of Ruffin, died on Sunday, Dec. 20, 2015 at the Hospice Home of Rockingham County.

She was born on July 13, 1928 in Leaksville to the late Conway Suttenfield and the late Minnie Glidewell Suttenfield. Mrs. Rogers worked as a tax accountant. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Winston-Salem, where she was a senior ambassador and a member of the Grace Bible Fellowship Class and the Senior Adult Choir.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Lee Rogers and a son, Harold Conway Shough.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 26 at Calvary Baptist Church, 5101 Country Club Road in Winston-Salem. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Survivors: her son, Ronnie Lee Shough; her adopted son and caregiver, Francisco Tamayo; a step-daughter, Laura Greene; 7 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.

Burial will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 27 at Mount Lawn Cemetery, Boone.
