Edgar Thomas McCain

Mr. Edgar Thomas McCain, 84, of Ruffin Street, Cooleemee, died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2015 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem.

He was born Dec. 31, 1930, in Texarkana, Texas to the late Lillian Taylor and Edgar Walter McCain. After serving 25 years in the   U.S. Air Force, he retired as a chief master sergeant. He moved to Mocksville where he worked for the postal service in Winston-Salem and Greensboro for 15 years, then moved to Cooleemee. Mr. McCain was of the Protestant faith and will be remembered for his kindness and generosity.

He was also preceded in death by 2 siblings, James Williams of Paris, Texas and Lucille Graves of Marshal, Texas.

Survivors: his wife, Dolly B. McCain of the home; a son, Tom McCain of Lexington; a granddaughter, Sarah McCain of the home.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 12 at Eaton Funeral Chapel in Mocksville with Grant Marrs officiating.
