Betty Wyatt Blackwelder

Mrs. Betty Wyatt Blackwelder, 83, of No Creek Road, Mocksville died Monday, Nov. 23, 2015 at her home.

She was born March 25, 1932, in Davie County to the late Wade H. and Pearl Craver Wyatt. Mrs. Blackwelder was a member of Fork Baptist Church. She loved cooking and baking but especially loved spending time with her great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her son, Tommy Blackwelder; 2 sisters, Emily Wyatt and Shirley Hyatt; and a brother, Wade Wyatt.

Survivors: her husband of 66 years, Leslie Blackwelder of the home; a daughter, Audrey Freeman of Mocksville; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Blackwelder; a brother, John Wyatt (Evelyn); a grandson, Todd Freeman (Cindy); 2 great-grandchildren, Kirsten and Peyton Freeman; a sister-in-law, Nell Wyatt, all of Mocksville; a brother-in-law, C.J. Hyatt of Winston-Salem; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was conducted at 3 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 25 at Fork Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Garrett officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. The family received friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
