Perce A. Musselman

Mr. Perce A. Musselman, 79, of Cedar Ridge Road,Mocksville,  died Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2015.

He was born Feb. 19, 1936, in Montgomery County, Pa. to the late Percy A. and Mary Stiles Musselman. He graduated from Ursinus College with a bachelor’s degree in industrial relations and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was retired from Ingersoll-Rand Company’s Portable Compressor Division as manager of human resources after 35 years. Other positions held with Ingersoll-Rand included manager of labor relations and manager of industrial relations. Awards and honors included Mocksville Rotary Club Citizen of the Year, Mocksville Woman’s Club Citizen of the Year, Governor’s Award for Outstanding Volunteer Services, Mocksville Civitan Club Citizen of the Year, E.C. Tatum Humanitarian of the Year and Paul Harris Fellow. He was an active volunteer in the community.  He had been serving as a board member of Davie County Economical Development Commission. He had also volunteered in many other organizations, which included, but not limited to board member of  Davie County Chamber of Commerce, Boy Scout Troop 555, Davidson County Community College (trustee and secretary), Development Center Fundraising Project (co-chair), Davie County Group Home (president and board member), Big Brothers Big Sisters, Cancer Services, Inc. (volunteer) and Davie County Domestic Violence Services.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Betsy Grube and her husband, Bill.

Survivors: his wife, Mary Lou Musselman of the home; 3 sons, Alan (Trish Greene), Erik (Susan) and Kurt (Tammy); and a brother, Truxton Musselman (Shirley).

A funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 22 at Eaton Funeral Chapel with Dr. Glenn L. Myers Jr.  officiating.  Burial will follow in Rose Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 21 at the funeral home.
