Town elections Tuesday

Voters in Mocksville, Bermuda Run and Cooleemee will go to the polls Tuesday to elect mayors and members of the town boards.
In Mocksville, Will Marklin, Glen Stanley and Mike DeVault are seeking the mayor’s position. Three candidates are running for two spots on the town board – Brent Ward, Rob Taylor and Kevin Marion.
In Cooleemee, mayor candidates are Steven Corriher and Jeannie McDaniel. Two four-year terms on the town board will come from four candidates – Jessica Daywalt Almond, Steven Andrew Lagle, KC Smith and Jim Szymanski. Cooleemee will elect a two-year unexpired term for one board member from Daphne Beck, Andy Reavis, Judy Phillips and Michael White.
Incumbent Bermuda Run Mayor Ken Rethemeier is being challenged by Janet Smith. John Guglielmi and Jerry West are running unopposed for two seats on the town board.
Polls in the towns will be open all day Tuesday. Early voting is available at the Davie Board of Elections Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., and on Saturday, Oct. 31 from 8 a.m.-1 p.m.
