Davie’s football team is finally in the win column, and it has a good chance to do it again here Friday in the first home game since Aug. 21.

Davie (1-3) will host Hopewell (1-3) at 7:30 in the first-ever meeting between the teams.

The Titans, out of Huntersville, have suffered three straight losses since a 54-14 rout of lowly Charlotte Garinger in the season opener. The Titans, who went 2-9 in 2014 and have lost 13 of 16, dealt Garinger its 31st consecutive defeat.

Hopewell’s losing streak began with a 27-6 decision to Lake Norman.

In a 44-20 loss to Mooresville, Hopewell held a 20-14 lead at the half, only to surrender 30 unanswered points in the second half. Hopewell built the first-half lead on a 70-yard pass from Tre Faison to Tre Exume. It was the first of three scoring hookups between Faison and Exume, the others covering 23 and 55 yards. For the game, Faison went 14 of 38 for 240 yards. Exume had five catches for 154 yards.

Last week Hopewell lost 21-6 to Olympic (1-2).
