Mr. Theodore Wells “Dock” Brown, 95, formerly of Pudding Ridge Road, Mocksville, died Sunday, Aug. 30, 2015, at Bermuda Commons in Advance.

He was born Dec. 9, 1919, in Davie County to the late Wilson Henry and Mabel Shifflet Coffey Brown and was a member of Union Chapel United Methodist Church. He retired as owner and operator of Davie Grading Company and was former owner and designer of Lake Hideaway and Davie Fish Camp. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was involved in the Triad Flight of Honor.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Theodora Brown; and 2 sisters.

Survivors: 2 daughters, Gina Miller (Mike) of Seminole, Fla. and Jill Brown of Lexington; 3 sons, Rick Shore (Terri) of Winston-Salem, Philip Shore (Christie) of Mocksville and Bobby Brown (Glenda) of Yadkinville; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and a special caretaker, Karen Barnhardt.

A funeral service was to be conducted at 10 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 3 at Union Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Darren Crotts officiating. The body was to be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial was to follow in the church cemetery with military honors conducted by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard. The family was to receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2 at Eaton Funeral Home.
