COOLEEMEE – Two men have been arrested and authorities are looking for a third – all accused of sexual activity with an underage girl.

Police Chief Bobby West said his department first got the report on May 15 after the 14-year-old girl’s father saw her kissing one of the suspects.

The initial investigation revealed that more people were likely involved, and the girl was taken to The Dragonfly House for an interview.

Angel Pereira, 23, of Watts Street, was charged with two counts of taking indecent liberties with a child and two counts of statutory sex offense with a child.

Luis Perez, 21, of Jericho Church Road, Mocksville, was charged with two counts of taking indecent liberties with a child, one count of first degree sex offense with a child, 1 count of statutory rape and one count of first degree rape.

A third suspect, Jose Pereira, 33, of a different Watts Street address, left town. He is facing warrants for one count of taking indecent liberties with a child and two counts of first degree sex offense with a child.

West said the abuse may have been ongoing for about seven years.
