Mrs. Alice Juanita Blackburn Parks 90, of Parks Lane, Mocksville, died Friday April 17, 2015 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem.

She was born June 12, 1924 in Davie County to the late Ed Hawkins and Clara Bell Smoot. She was educated in the public schools of Davie and was a housewife, member of Chinquapin Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Mocksville where she served as a Deaconess, missionary, head of the dietician staff, was in the mixed choir, usher board and a delegate for the Yadkin Davie Association. She was a member of Rose-demall Chapter 531 OES.

She was preceeded in death by her husband, Dewey Houston Parks; brothers, Frances Blackburn and James Smoot.

Survivors: her children, Clarence Melvin Parks (Stacy), Dewey Arnold Parks, Barbara Parks Seawright (Perry), Patricia Parks Moore (Richard), Gwendolyn Parks, Touloup Parks Etchinson (Joseph), Donald Ray Parks, Vetta Parks Longsworth (Louis), all of Mocksville, Shirley Juanita Parks (Frank), Atlanta, Ga., and Christopher Parks (Sandra), Sicklerville, N.J.; grandchildren reared in the home with the children, Micheal Elliott Anthony, Phillipines, Terrance Tyrone Jones, Winston-Salem, Ebony Nacole Jones, Mocksville; adopted sister, Cordella Revels, California; 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren.

Services were to be held Thursday, April 23 at Chinquapin Grove Missionary Baptist, Mocksville, with visitation at 2:30 p.m. and funeral at 3 followed by burial in the church cemetery on Blevin Road in Yadkin County, with the Rev. Anthony Woodruff, officiating, and the Rev. Darrell McConnell, eulogist.
