 Charlie E. Brindle Jr.

Charlie Edward Brindle Jr., 79, of Cooleemee, died Sunday, June 29 at Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House.

He was born in Davie County on Oct. 9, 1934, son of the late Charlie Edward Brindle Sr. and Mae Belle McIntyre Brindle. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Cooleemee. Mr. Brindle loved to fish, was a retired Cooleemee firefighter, a New York Yankee fan, a youth baseball coach and a shade tree auto mechanic.

Survivors: his wife, Maggie Ann Green Brindle, who he married on Nov. 12, 1955; 2 sons, George William Brindle of the home, and Thomas Edward Brindle and fiance’ Diana Badger of Farmington; 2 daughters, Mary Ann Carter of Cooleemee, and Teresa Lynnette Brindle of Mocksville; 3 grandchildren, Julia “Annie” Benton, Christopher Ryan Carter and George Edward Carter; 3 great-grandchildren, Charlie Edward Carter, Micah Ryan Carter, and Bentley Austin Anderson; niece, Peggy Love; and honorary son, Shaun Stephen Chaffin. 

A graveside service was to be held Wednesday, July 2 at 4 p.m. at Legion Memorial Park with the Rev. Randy Menser officiating. The family received friends on Tuesday, July 1 at Davie Funeral Service in Mocksville.
