 Virginia Clement Meeks

  Mrs. Virginia Clement Meeks, 94, formerly of Mocksville, died in Jacksonville, Fla. on April 22, 2014.

She was born in Wilkesboro on Dec. 15, 1919, to the late Kerr and Eula Clement, and grew up in Mocksville. She was employed as a secretary for N.C. State Motor Club in Rocky Mount. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Rocky Mount. She was an excellent seamstress, and enjoyed needle work, gardening and reading. She was a proud member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. She was devoted to family and friends. 

Survivors: her daughter, Joan Meeks Clark (Pete); sister, Marguerite Minor of Winston-Salem; grandchildren, Katherine Garro (Bud) and Allyson Clark (Paul Solans); and great-grandson, John Garro. 

She was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Robert Meeks; brothers, Kerr Clement Jr. and Bill Clement; and sister, Cynthia Dixon.

A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, June 28, at 11 a.m. at Clement Family Cemetery in Mocksville.
