Ray Jones

Mr. Ray Jones, 86, of Indian Hills Road, Advance, died Friday, May 2, 2014, at his home with his family surrounding him.
He was born Nov. 21, 1927 in Davie County, one of 12 children to the late Alex Lillington and Hannah Bertha Foster Jones. Mr. Jones had worked at Dixie Furniture and retired after 28.5 years at R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. He was a lifetime member of Fork Baptist Church. Mr. Jones was a veteran of the U.S. Army and fought in the Korean Conflict. He was a farmer who grew tobacco, a garden and raised cattle.
He was also preceded in death by his twin brother, Gray; brothers, Paul, Clyde, Fred, Bonce, Wade and Maynard Jones; sisters, Mary Nell Bailey, Alma Williams and Addie Mae Walser; and an infant son, Timothy Ray.
Survivors: his wife, Eva Jones of the home; son, Ronnie Jones (Sandra) and their family, Cassie, Nick and Emory Gibietis and Jen and Garrett O’Neal; son, Mark Jones (Dianne) and their family, Taylor and Colton Jones, Alli Jones and Sam and Ashli Mitchell; daughter, Donna Seaford (Jeff) and their family, Kati, Jason and Teygan Ritchie and Jake Seaford; daughter, Sherry Jaycocks (Michael) and their family, Carly and Laney Jaycocks; a sister, Magdalene Stroud; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was conducted at 11 a.m., Monday, May 5 at Fork Baptist Church with the Revs. Robert Garrett and Nathan Hepler and Wayne Rentz officiating. The body was placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial followed in the church cemetery. The family received friends Sunday, May 4 at Eaton Funeral Home, Mocksville.
