Audrey Mae Harkey

Audrey Mae (Jarvis) Harkey, 60, of Junction Road, Mocksville, died Sunday, May 4, 2014, at Forsyth Medical Center.
She was born in Yadkin County on Feb. 16, 1954, the daughter of the late Richard Edward Jarvis and Vonnie (Childress) Jarvis. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Harmony. Prior to becoming disabled, she was a seamstress in the textile industry.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Marie Jarvis; and 2 brothers, James and Ronnie Jarvis.
Survivors: her husband, James Franklin “Frank” Harkey, who she married April 21, 2000; 3 sons, Wayne Shoemaker of Kentucky, David Eugene Harkey and Frankie Gene Harkey, both of South Carolina; 2 daughters, Diane Steele of Statesville, and Kathey Harkey of South Carolina; 3 sisters, Brenda Smith of Statesville, Wanda Benton and Patricia Markle, both of Harmony; 11 grandchildren, Anthony, Dakota, Becky, Cameron, Abbigayle, AJ, David Jr., Gene, Mark, David and Lasondra.
The family was to receive friends on Wednesday, May 7 from noon-1:30 p.m. at Davie Funeral Service in Mocksville. A graveside celebration of life service will follow at 2 p.m. at Rowan Memorial Park in Salisbury with the Rev. John Wahlen officiating.
