SAT Scores Increase

Davie students continue to score higher in the state and nation in average SAT scores, and is ranked eighth highest in the state, according to The College Board’s annual SAT report, released last week.
Davie seniors scored, on all three sections, 1538, which is up 10 points from the previous year. The NC average combined score is 1479, which is also up 10 points from the previous year, and the national average stayed the same as last year, 1498.
The test is made up of three parts, math, critical reading, and writing. The highest possible score is 2400, or 800 points for each section.
Early College students’ scores increased over last year in all three sections, up nine points in math, from 522 to 531; in reading, from 523 to 540; and in writing, from 495 to 516, for a total combined score of 1587, which is an increase of 47 points from 2012.
