OFFERING HOPE: Twelfth Home Going Up In Mocksville

The 12th “Hope Home” being built in Davie County is almost done.
The Davie non-profit is building a residence for someone in need on Foster Street in Mocksville. The two bedroom, one and a half bath house will be owned by Hope Homes but will allow a resident to move in and live there rent free.
Hope Homes volunteer Jim Stockert says the homes are all built by volunteer labor and typically take six to eight weeks to complete.
“Anyone can volunteer,” Stockert said as workers take measurements for sheet rock and prepare for a plumbing.
Many churches and businesses in Davie participate in the projects by donating land, providing refreshments to volunteers, or giving free services during the construction of a home.
