Rich Park Grows – Halls Donation In Memory Of Sons

As young boys, Buck and Stacy Hall loved roaming the woods behind their family home on Hallander Drive in Mocksville.
If they went far enough, they ended up in Rich Park with all of its amenities.
The parents of the late brothers – Bob and Hope Hall – were at the Mocksville Town Board meeting this month, donating more than an acre of land adjoining the park to the town in memory of their sons.
The Halls now live in Bermuda Village.
Bob Hall is a former member of the town board and said how he and Hope wanted to build a house in Mocksville in 1949. They purchased eight acres off North Main Street and began construction, cutting a road through to Main and naming the street Hallander, after Hall and Anderson, the man they purchased the land from.
“Young boys of this community grew up in those woods,” Bob told the board. “We want to keep those woods there in memory of our two boys who are deceased. They played there a lot.”
