JoeFest Live returns to Downtown Mocksville for the third consecutive year from 5-10 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 25.
Entertainment will include four live bands, a chili cook-off, and Natty Greene’s beer garden. The performing bands include – Exit 180 Band, Steel Creek, Brad Ratledge, Caleb’s Bridge.
The admission fee will be $5 per person.
Anyone with a favorite chili recipe interested in entering the JoeFest Live Chili Cook-off should call Eva Phillips 336-918-6966.
The Joe Phillips Memorial Motorcycle Poker Run leaves the Mocksville Square at 11a.m. and will be riding to Freeborns on the Blue Ridge Parkway for lunch ($20 single rider / $25 for two-up.) All motorcycles and riders are welcome. For more info on the ride contact Ed Hinkle 751-5647 or Eddie Spillman 336-782-0156 (signup starts at 10). In 2011 38 riders joined the ride. This year the first 100 riders will get a poker run t-shirt.
Proceeds from the JoeFest Live and Poker Run will be contributed to the Joe Phillips Scholarship Fund. Each year the fund helps to pay the college tuition for a deserving Davie High School student. The fund is managed by the Davie Community Foundation.
