Boys Erase In Semi-Finals

PFAFFTOWN – Move over, Reagan. The Davie boys basketball team is the No. 2 seed from the Central Piedmont Conference.
When second-seeded Davie and No. 3 Reagan met in the semifinals of the Central Piedmont Conference Tournament last week at host Reagan, much was at stake. The teams tied for second in the regular season, and this game was the tiebreaker. The winner would receive the No. 2 seed from the conference – and a first-round home game.
After more than a quarter of action, the prospect of Davie pulling out the win – and its first trip to the finals in 17 years – looked bleak.
The War Eagles got off to a miserable start, trailing by 18 early in the second. But they made up for it with a terrific rush over the final 22-plus minutes, winning 73-65.
Two games earlier, Davie suffered an 80-78 loss at Reagan. After an epic comeback, the War Eagles had twice the reason to celebrate (No. 2 berth and finals appearance for the first time since 1995).
