6,512 Students Expected When Schools Open

The big yellow buses will once again be taking over local roads, as school opens Wednesday, Aug. 25.

Operating times for elementary schools are 8:10 a.m. to 2:50 p.m.

Middle schools will start at 7:55 a.m. and end the day at 3:09 p.m.

Davie High and the Early College will start at 8:20 a.m., with Davie High ending at 3:20 p.m. and Early College students being released at 3:15.

Central Davie Academy middle school students will report at 8:30 a.m. and end their day at 2:35 p.m., while high school students at the academy will begin at 8:45 a.m. and be released at 3:05 p.m.

On early release days, all schools will end at 1 p.m. unless otherwise noted.

Stephanie Koefoed, public information coordinator, said it is expected there will be approximately the same number of students beginning the year as there was at the end of the ninth month of the previous school year, 6,489.
