Veteran Clarence Spillman reads the names of those who never came home while fighting for their country. The monument in Downtown Mocksville is the center of attention on Veteran’s Day, and a program organized by Lynne Byerly included patriotic music by the Davie High School Band, the colors by members of the Davie High JROTC, prayers, laying of a wreath at the monument, and presentations by local Scouts.
