Tickets on sale for Madrigal Dinner

The Lords and Ladies of the Davie High School Choral Department are planning their 11th annual Madrigal Dinner.

Come and enjoy: the procession of singers through the hall; the hoisting of a toast from the wassail bowl; the procession of bearers with the boar’s head; a meal including meats, vegetables, dessert, and fruit; the dramatic presentation of Murder Most Fowl; the serenading of minstrels and entertainment at your dinner table; and the choral concert presented by the Madrigal Singers.

The dinner will take place on Monday, Dec. 7 and Tuesday, Dec. 8 at Cornerstone Christian Church on NC 801 North, Mocksville. The festivities will begin at 6 p.m. and the cost of the dinner and entertainment is $20 for adults and $15 for students. The dinner is a fundraiser for the choral department.

Tickets can be ordered by contacting Elaine Snow at snowe@davie.k12.nc.us or 751-5905 ext. 4137. The ticket order form can be accessed on the Davie High website. Mail a check to Elaine Snow, Davie High, 1200 Salisbury Rd. Mocksville, and the tickets will be mailed. Specify which night you prefer. Tickets will not be sold at the door but must be purchased by Dec. 4.

The Madrigal Singers, Cantare, and Choral Beginning classes will present a concert of holiday music at the Brock Performing Arts Center on Tuesday, Dec. 15 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $7 in advance and $10 at the door.
