Perry Studevent was elected chair of the Davie County Democratic Party Saturday at the annual convention at the Davie County public Library.

Other officers: Thomasine Gaither, first vice chair; Tama O’Mara, second vice chair; Gracia Littauer, third vice chair; Linda McDaniel, secretary; and Pamela Faircloth, treasurer.

Dr. Virginia K. Newell was keynote speaker.
