Imagine walking across Kansas in the middle of summer. The temperature is 115º. You’re on the side of the road, with not a tree in sight. The only breezes feel like a furnace blast.

A cool drink of clean water would be nice, wouldn’t it?

Brook Hinman knows. That cool drink of water was nice.

Hinman, of Advance, also knows that there are people all over the world who don’t have access to clean drinking water. Some struggle to find water that isn’t clean.

That’s why he, with wife Angel and toddler son K.O. driving along in a support vehicle, walked 3,300 miles across America. They raised money for the charity, www.charitywater.org.

Now, you can read about the young family’s journey with Angel’s book, “Water Walk America.”

They had been saving money for a down payment on a house, but decided to use the money for a higher purpose - helping others. They’re back home now, better people for the experience.
